Help With a Problem
Hi Bill,I was just wondering if you could give me a bit of advice on a problem I have with my ford Ka 2003 model. While recently changing a rear indicator lamp it smashed and shorted, taking out one fuse which I replaced. but the problem is that ever since that, my hazzards do not work and my horn and indicators dont work, but my indicators work when the hazzard switch is
on.
I was hoping you could enlighten me as to what the problem could be.
Thank You
Paul
Hi Paul,
It sounds like a problem with the Relay - the one that operates the indicators and it may also operate the horn.
In changing the fuse - could you have moved or disturbed one of the relays (I'm not sure if the Relays are in the same fusebox on your KA)... It may
even have caused a bit of a short behind the fusebox - though that's unlikely.... You could also try fitting a new fuse just in case the new one had a problem with it.
May I suggest you try removing and replacing each Relay one at a time - specially those involved with the horn or Indicators... you hand book should show which - it may even be shown in the Fuse box lid.
If this doesn't cure it - you may need a new Relay... but I doubt it.
Let me know how you get on.
Good luck.
Regards
Bill
